“Failure to me, is if I never have a real go.”

The picture above is the setting of what has to be one of the remotest personal fitness businesses in the world.  Off The Track Training was set up by grazier Joy McClymont at her family’s western Queensland sheep and cattle station in Australia. She was a ‘joy’ to be with when I spent 24 hours with her. But she was also an inspiration with her positive attitude and work ethos.

I spoke to her about setting up and running your own business. The farming side of her career is on the slow burn at the moment as the region she lives in has had four failed wet seasons. What are her tips for a business working in marginal conditions? What’s the most important financial lesson she’s learnt? And my favourite question, what should a business do once a day, week, month and year?
